My Kundli
A janam kundli is a map of the sky at your birth: the nine grahas placed in twelve houses from your lagna (ascendant). It gives your moon sign, nakshatra and dasha periods. Enter your date, time and place of birth to get Lagna, Chandra and Navamsa charts, doshas and a free PDF, all made on your phone.

Kundli kaise banaye: how to make your janam kundli
- Enter the birth date and time (to the second if you have it). Tick “I do not know the birth time” for a Moon chart.
- Search the birth town or city. Born abroad? Search the city and its time zone is set for you, or pick any zone by name.
- Tap Make my kundli to see the sky at your birth fold into your chart.
- Explore charts, planets, dasha and doshas, then download the free PDF or save the profile on this device.
A janam kundli is a map of the sky at the moment of birth, seen from the place of birth. The sign rising on the eastern horizon becomes the lagna, the first house, and the other eleven houses follow sign by sign (the whole-sign system most Vedic astrologers use). The nine grahas, Sun to Ketu, are placed in their signs and houses.
This kundli uses the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the standard of the Indian government’s calendar committee, mean Rahu and Ketu by default, and Vimshottari dasha with 365.25-day years, the defaults of AstroSage and most printed kundlis. Every number is computed on your device, so it works offline once the page has loaded.
Ask your kundli
Once your chart is ready, ask it a question: when marriage or a new job looks supportive, which career suits you, how this year looks, what your dasha means, whether Sade Sati is running, and about 60 more. Tap a chip or type in English, Hindi or Hinglish.
Answers come from written rules based on classical Parashari Jyotish, not from a chatbot: the houses and their lords, karakas such as Venus and Jupiter for marriage, the navamsa, your dasha chain and the Jupiter, Saturn and Rahu transits. While you read, the houses and planets behind the answer glow on your chart and any time window lights up on the dasha ribbon. Open “Why we say this” for the exact factors.
Everything runs on your phone. The question is never sent or saved. We do not predict death, illness, pregnancy outcomes or court cases, and we never sell remedies or gemstones.
Doshas, calmly
Janam kundli: common questions
Is this janam kundli really free and private?
Yes. The whole kundli, the PDF and the share card are made in your browser. Birth details are not uploaded, not stored on a server and not put in the link. Profiles are saved only if you tick “Save this profile on this device”, and you can delete them any time.
Which charts are included?
The Lagna chart (D1), the Chandra chart (houses from the Moon sign) and the Navamsa (D9), each in North Indian, South Indian or East Indian style. Tap any house or planet for a plain explanation.
How accurate are the planet positions?
Positions come from the astronomy-engine library, which we checked against NASA JPL Horizons for 18 historic births: every planet within 0.2 arcminute. In sidereal (Lahiri) terms the charts match published AstroSage kundlis: the lagna within about 1 arcminute, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars within about 1 arcminute, and Rahu within a quarter arcminute.
What is the difference between mean and true Rahu?
Mean Rahu is the average position of the Moon’s node, used by AstroSage and most printed kundlis, and is our default. True Rahu wobbles up to about 1.7 degrees around it. You can switch in Chart settings; Ketu is always opposite Rahu.
What if I do not know my birth time?
We draw a Chandra kundli for 12 noon. The Moon sign, nakshatra (unless the Moon changed nakshatra that day), planets in signs, the dasha order, Sade Sati and Manglik from the Moon remain useful. The lagna, houses, navamsa lagna, Manglik from the lagna and exact dasha dates need the time.
My birth was before 1955 or during the war. Which time zone?
Most kundli software assumes IST for every year. But from 1 September 1942 to 15 October 1945 Indian clocks ran one hour ahead (UTC+6:30), Bombay kept its own time until 1955 (UTC+4:51) and Calcutta until 1948 (UTC+5:53:20). When your date and place fall in these, we show a hint so you can choose the clock the record was written in.
I was born outside India. Does that work?
Yes. Search your birth city (about 130 cities abroad are listed) and its time zone is set automatically, with daylight saving for that date from your browser’s own time zone database. You can also type coordinates and pick any time zone by name.
What does the dasha timeline show?
The Vimshottari mahadashas across 120 years as a ribbon, with a “you are here” marker. Tap a mahadasha for its antardashas, and an antardasha for its pratyantardashas, all with exact dates (365.25-day years).
How are Sade Sati dates found?
From Saturn’s real movement: we follow Saturn sign by sign, including the months it turns retrograde and briefly leaves a sign, and list the exact start of the rising, peak and setting phases for your Moon sign, plus dhaiya.
How does Ask your kundli work?
Tap a question or type your own in English, Hindi or Hinglish. A small model on your phone works out which of about 60 questions you mean, then fixed rules from classical Parashari Jyotish read the houses, their lords, karakas, the navamsa, your running dasha and the Jupiter, Saturn and Rahu transits. For timing questions you get windows where a linked dasha meets a supportive Jupiter transit. Every answer shows why we say it, and the same chart always gets the same answer.
Is my question sent anywhere?
No. Your question and your birth details stay in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded or saved, and our privacy-friendly counter records only which kind of question was asked (for example marriage timing), never the words.
Which questions are not answered?
We do not predict death or lifespan, illness or surgery outcomes, a baby’s gender, court cases, lottery or stock tips, or whether to break up, and we never help harm anyone. Health answers stay with general wellbeing; please see a doctor for anything specific. If you are struggling, Tele-MANAS 14416 is free and open 24x7.
What is in the free PDF?
About 16 A4 pages in English or Hindi: cover, birth details, panchang at birth, avakahada chakra, the D1, Chandra and D9 charts in your chosen style, the planet table, a house-by-house summary, the dasha table, doshas, the Sade Sati timeline, current transits, personality highlights and a glossary.
