Gochar 2027: Shani, Guru and Rahu-Ketu
The three slow movers of 2027: when each changes sign, when it turns retrograde, and what it means for your moon sign. Gochar (transit) means where a planet is moving in the sky now, counted from your moon sign (the sign the Moon was in when you were born).

2027 at a glance
Retrograde (vakri) time
Retrograde (vakri) time
Shani (Saturn) →
Shani stands for work, discipline, patience and duty. It is slow and fair: it rewards steady effort and asks you to fix what is not working.
- Meen (Pisces), until 3 June 2027
- Mesh (Aries), 3 June 2027 to 20 October 2027
- Meen (Pisces), from 20 October 2027
- Retrograde: 9 August 2027 to 24 December 2027
Guru (Jupiter) →
Guru stands for growth, wisdom, children, teachers, marriage and good advice. Where it moves, things tend to expand.
- Singh (Leo), until 25 January 2027
- Kark (Cancer), 25 January 2027 to 26 June 2027
- Singh (Leo), 26 June 2027 to 26 November 2027
- Kanya (Virgo), from 26 November 2027
- Retrograde since 13 December 2026, turns direct on 13 April 2027
Rahu and Ketu (the lunar nodes) →
Rahu and Ketu are not physical planets. They are two points where the Moon’s path crosses the Sun’s path, always exactly opposite each other. Rahu stands for hunger, new and unusual things; Ketu for letting go, detachment and inner life.
- Rahu: Makar (Capricorn), whole year
- Ketu: Kark (Cancer), whole year
- Rahu and Ketu always move backward through the signs, so they have no separate retrograde period.

This page counts from your moon sign only, which is how rashifal works. Your full kundli adds your lagna, your dasha and the vedha checks. It runs on your phone; your birth details never leave it.
How these dates are worked out
Positions are sidereal (Lahiri ayanamsa), apparent geocentric, with mean Rahu and Ketu, from the same engine our panchang and kundli use. Sign changes and retrograde stations are found to within a minute and shown as calendar dates in IST. Houses are whole signs counted from the moon sign.
