Kaal Sarp check

Kaal Sarp dosha (yog) is said to form when all seven planets, Sun to Saturn, sit on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis. It is a later idea that classical texts such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra do not mention. See whether your chart is full, partial or none, with an honest note on how much weight it deserves.

We will draw a Moon chart (Chandra kundli) for 12 noon. The moon sign, nakshatra (unless the Moon changed nakshatra that day), planets in signs, dasha order, Sade Sati and Manglik from the Moon stay useful. The lagna, the houses, the navamsa lagna, Manglik from the lagna, Kaal Sarp type and exact dasha dates need the time.

Classical texts such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra do not mention Kaal Sarp, and many astrologers do not use it.

How to check Kaal Sarp dosha

  1. Enter the birth date, time and place (or use your saved profile).
  2. Tap Check Kaal Sarp.
  3. See the Rahu-Ketu ring, the verdict and the type.

Rahu and Ketu are the two points where the Moon’s path crosses the Sun’s. Because they are always exactly opposite, a fair number of ordinary charts have all seven planets on one side, and more do by a loose sign count. That is a pattern, not a curse.

Kaal Sarp dosha: common questions

What is Kaal Sarp dosha?

Kaal Sarp is said to form when the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn all lie within the half of the zodiac from Rahu to Ketu. Its type (Anant, Kulik, Vasuki and so on) is named from the house Rahu occupies.

What is a partial Kaal Sarp?

When one planet lies outside the Rahu-Ketu arc, or all are inside by sign but one crosses by degree. Some astrologers call this partial; many do not count it at all. We label it clearly so it is not confused with the full pattern.

Is Kaal Sarp in the classical texts?

No. It does not appear in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra or other major classical works; it became popular in the last century. That is why we present it as a pattern some people look for, not a verdict.

What is Kaal Amrit?

Some astrologers distinguish the direction: planets running from Rahu to Ketu (Kaal Sarp) or from Ketu to Rahu (Kaal Amrit), and read the second more gently. We show which direction your chart has.

Should I do a Kaal Sarp puja?

We do not recommend or sell any ritual. Many accomplished people have this pattern. If it worries you, talk to someone you trust; there is no need for expensive rituals.
