Questions
Is IndiaDigital Code really free?
Yes. Every course, challenge and certificate is free, with no login and no ads inside lessons. Your code runs in your own browser, so there are no servers to pay for.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You need only a browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a phone, tablet or computer. The editor, the preview and the checker all run on the page.
Is it safe for children?
Yes. Block Coding Jr. needs no typing and no account. Code runs in a locked sandbox that cannot reach other websites, and nothing you type is uploaded.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device, in this browser. If you clear site data or switch devices, progress starts again. Your XP, streak and badges never leave your device.
Can I learn in Hindi?
Yes. Every lesson has a हिंदी button that switches the explanations, instructions and hints to Hindi. Code keywords stay in English, as in real programming.
Do I get a certificate?
Finish the final project and score 70% or more across the challenges to unlock a free certificate (PDF or image) with a verification link and QR code.
Which course should I start with?
Class 3–8 or complete beginners: Block Coding Jr. Want to build websites: Web Basics (HTML & CSS), then JavaScript. Class 8+ or adults who want a first “real” language: Python. Working with data or preparing for jobs: Python, then SQL. Everyone who writes code benefits from Command Line & Git.
Does Python really run in my browser?
Yes. The Python course runs real Python 3 (Pyodide, compiled to WebAssembly) inside your browser. The first time you press Run it downloads about 13 MB once; after that it starts quickly and works without sending your code anywhere.
Is the terminal in the Git course a real computer?
No — it is a safe practice terminal that imitates a Linux shell and git inside the page. You cannot break anything, and the same commands work on a real terminal later.
Do I need maths for AI & ML Basics?
Only school arithmetic: averages, distances and straight lines. Every idea is a short JavaScript function you write and test, plus playgrounds you can drag and click. Not a coder? Start with AI Shiksha, our no-code AI course.
