Most families now send two invitations: a printed card for elders and close relatives, and a WhatsApp message with a link for everyone else. The words need to work in both places. The order of a wedding invitation
1. A blessing or invocation at the top, such as ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥, Bismillah, a verse or simply "With the blessings of our elders". 2. The hosts: usually the parents, sometimes the grandparents, or the couple themselves. 3. The request: "request the pleasure of your company" or "cordially invite you". 4. The couple, with the bride's or groom's parents named alongside. 5. The main function, date, time and venue. 6. Other functions in order. 7. A closing line from the family, and RSVP details.
On a printed card each function often gets its own insert. On an invite website each function gets its own block with a map button and Add to calendar, so the main text can stay short.

Reception only and save the date
Office colleagues and wider circles are often invited only to the reception. Say so clearly so nobody turns up for the pheras unexpectedly. A save the date goes out six to eight weeks ahead for guests who must travel.

Who should be named as the host on a wedding invitation?
Traditionally the parents of the bride or groom host, sometimes with the grandparents named first. When the couple host their own wedding, or both families share the hosting, write "Together with their families" before the couple’s names.
How early should wedding invitations be sent?
Send a save the date six to eight weeks ahead if guests must travel, the full invitation three to four weeks before the first function, and a short reminder two or three days before.
Is it all right to invite people to the wedding on WhatsApp?
Yes, it is now common, especially with a link that has every function, map and RSVP. Call elders and close relatives first, then send the link so their children can help with the details.
Can I use both English and Hindi on the same invitation?
