Shashtiabdapoorthi marks the husband completing sixty years, a full cycle of the sixty-year Hindu calendar, and in many Tamil, Telugu and Kannada families it is celebrated almost like a wedding. Homams such as Ayush and Mrityunjaya are performed at dawn, the couple sit together before the sacred fire, and at the muhurtham the husband ties the mangalyam again while children and grandchildren watch. Relatives who attended the original wedding are often invited back.
With several homams, a muhurtham and a lunch, guests need precise timings, and older relatives may be travelling from other cities. This free invite page lists each function with its time, the kalyana mandapam with a map button, and a countdown to the muhurtham. Grandchildren can add a photo story of the couple across six decades, and the second language can be Tamil, Telugu or Kannada so the elders read it comfortably.
