An Akhand Path is the continuous, uninterrupted reading of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by a relay of pathis, completed in about forty-eight hours. Families hold it at home or in a gurdwara to give thanks, before a wedding, on moving into a new home, on an anniversary or in remembrance. Most guests join for the bhog, the conclusion of the path, followed by kirtan, Ardas, the hukamnama and Guru ka langar. A Sukhmani Sahib path is a shorter gathering held in the same spirit. Guests should know the bhog time, where to come and that heads must be covered.
This free invite page lists the arambh, bhog, kirtan and langar with their own dates and times, so the sangat knows when to come. Write it in Punjabi, the toggle then reads ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, with English for others, and add a note to cover the head. Each timing has a Google Maps button, guests can reply with how many will attend the langar, and the page is calm, with no music playing by default.
