A Diwali milan is the one evening in the festive season when everyone in a building, a company or a community association gets together before scattering to their home towns. It usually happens in the week before Diwali or right after Bhai Dooj, often on a weekday evening, with a short Lakshmi-Ganesh puja or lamp lighting, a cultural programme by children and staff, a rangoli or diya-painting contest, tambola and a buffet. The organising committee juggles volunteers, prizes and a caterer who wants a firm number.
This free invite page gives the committee one link for the notice board, the residents’ WhatsApp group and the office mailer. Each part of the evening, contest, puja, programme, dinner, gets its own time, and residents or colleagues reply with how many family members are coming and which parts they will attend. The dashboard totals the headcount and exports it to Excel for the caterer, and a printable QR card can go up at the lift lobby or reception.
