Bhoomi pujan, also called shilanyas or the foundation stone ceremony, is performed before construction begins on a home, a shop or a factory. A pandit is called at the muhurat, the earth is worshipped, a small pit is dug at the north-east corner, and a kalash, coins and a silver snake or other items are placed with the first brick. It is a short morning ritual, usually followed by prasad, breakfast or a simple lunch for the people who came.
The hardest part for guests is finding an empty plot that has no house number yet. This free invite page solves that with a Google Maps pin to the exact spot, the muhurat time and a countdown, plus a note about parking or the nearest landmark. Relatives can reply with how many are coming, and you can send the same link to builders, contractors and neighbours who will be part of the project.
