The naamkaran is often the first time the wider family meets the new baby. Traditionally held around the eleventh or twelfth day, the father or a grandparent whispers the chosen name into the baby’s ear and writes it on a plate of rice, and the name is announced to everyone gathered. Families call it barsa, namakarana, palna or, in many Muslim homes, aqiqah, and each has its own customs.
This free invite page lets you share the date, the puja or ceremony timing and the venue, with a map for relatives coming from out of town. You can even keep the name a secret until the day, and add it to the page afterwards so faraway family can see it. Guests reply with a headcount, and grandparents can read everything in Hindi.
