Indicative months. Your Krishi Vigyan Kendra or Kisan Call Centre (1800-180-1551, free) gives dates for your district and variety.

How it works

  • The months are the usual windows from the agriculture ministry’s crop calendars and state packages of practice.
  • A late or early monsoon, irrigation and the variety you grow can shift them by weeks. Your Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) gives the dates for your district.
  • Kisan Call Centre 1800-180-1551 answers farming questions free in local languages.

Questions people ask

What are kharif, rabi and zaid?

Kharif crops are sown with the monsoon (June, July) and cut in autumn. Rabi crops are sown in winter (October to December) and cut in spring. Zaid crops are short summer crops between the two.

My district sows earlier than shown. Is the page wrong?

The page shows the common window for the state. Hill areas, coastal districts and irrigated land often differ. Follow your KVK or agriculture officer for local dates.
