Tatkal charge
₹360extra per passenger (30% of basic fare, between ₹300 and ₹400)
How it works
- Tatkal counts from the train’s journey date at its starting station. If you board mid-route after midnight, check the train’s start date on IRCTC.
- Online Tatkal needs an Aadhaar-verified IRCTC account (from 1 July 2025). Counter and agent bookings need an OTP on your mobile (from 15 July 2025). Agents cannot book in the first 30 minutes.
- Confirmed Tatkal tickets get no refund when cancelled.
