Before you buy

  • Buy only on the Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website. Nobody needs to call you to sell it.
  • Your FASTag must be fixed on the windscreen and linked to the registration number, not the chassis number.
  • The pass works only for that one vehicle and cannot be moved to another.

How it works

  • A trip is one crossing of a toll plaza, so going and coming back through one plaza uses two trips. On a closed (ticketed) expressway, one entry and exit is one trip.
  • Without the pass, a return within 24 hours costs 1.5 times the one-way fee at NHAI plazas; we use that when you tick "back the same day".
  • We try buying the pass 0, 1, 2 or more times in a year (a new pass once 200 trips are used) and pick the cheapest.
  • State highway, city and private tolls are not covered by the pass. Put them in "other tolls" and they are added to both sides.
  • Everything is calculated on your phone. Your routes are saved only in this browser.

Questions people ask

Who can buy the annual pass?

Only a private, non-commercial car, jeep or van with a working FASTag linked to its registration number. Taxis, trucks, buses and commercial vehicles cannot use it; the pass is switched off if it is used on one.

Where does it work?

At fee plazas on National Highways and National Expressways run by NHAI and MoRTH. On state highways, state expressways and city or private tolls your FASTag works as normal and money is deducted.

How do I buy it?

Only through the Rajmargyatra app or the NHAI website, on your existing FASTag. It usually starts within 2 hours of payment. Ignore anyone selling it on calls, SMS links or social media.

What happens after 200 trips?

The pass ends and your FASTag works as a normal prepaid tag again. You can buy a new pass then. Unused trips do not carry over after one year.

Where do I find the toll for my route?

Your FASTag SMS shows the amount at each plaza. The NHAI Toll Information System (tis.nhai.gov.in) lists the single and return journey fee for every NHAI plaza.

I live near a toll plaza. Is there something cheaper?

Non-commercial vehicles registered within 20 km of a plaza can get a monthly local pass at that plaza. Check the "monthly pass" fee for your plaza on tis.nhai.gov.in and compare.
