Your health policy, the lines that matter.

A 40-page policy has a few lines that decide what a claim pays. We find them, compare them with IRDAI rules, and show what to do if a claim is rejected.

Choose the policy PDF from your email or the insurer's app. A photo of the policy schedule also works.

How it works

  • Choose the policy PDF (or a photo of the schedule). The text is read on your phone; nothing is uploaded.
  • We look for sum insured, room rent and ICU limits, co-payment, deductible, waiting periods, sub-limits, exclusions, free look and the policy end date.
  • Each line is compared with the IRDAI health insurance master circular of 2024: for example, a pre-existing disease wait longer than 36 months is flagged.
  • A clause we cannot find is not guessed. Check the policy wording or ask the insurer in writing.
  • Claim rejected: write to the insurer's Grievance Officer, then Bima Bharosa, then the Insurance Ombudsman (free, claims up to ₹50 lakh).
  • Everything happens on your phone: the photo, the text and the answer never leave it. We do not keep or see your paper.

Questions people ask

What is the room rent trap?

If your policy limits room rent (say 1% of the sum insured a day) and you take a costlier room, the insurer can cut most other bills of that stay in the same proportion. IRDAI does not allow this cut on medicines, implants, consumables and tests. Ask for a room within the limit.

What is the moratorium period?

After 60 months of continuous cover with the same or ported policy, the insurer cannot reject a claim for non-disclosure of a condition, except for proven fraud. This comes from the IRDAI master circular of 2024.

My claim was rejected. How long do I have?

Write to the insurer first. If it does not reply in 30 days or you are not satisfied, you can go to the Insurance Ombudsman within one year of the insurer's reply. It is free and you do not need a lawyer.

Is this insurance advice?

No. It explains your policy wording. The policy document and the insurer's written reply are the final word. Review of this tool by a licensed insurance professional is pending.
