Printable kit
Session plan, sign-in sheet and a poster. Print and keep at the session table.
Session plan (30 minutes, one elder)
- 2 min: Sit side by side. Ask what they use the phone for and what worries them.
- 3 min: Open indiadigital.org/hi/internet-seekho/ on their phone (or yours). Say: these are fake screens, mistakes are safe here.
- 8 min: Level 1, Pay or collect. Let them press. Repeat the rule: a PIN always sends money out.
- 8 min: Level 5, OTP. Read each OTP message aloud together.
- 6 min: One more level they choose (fake SMS, video call, DigiLocker or payee name).
- 3 min: Save 1930 in their contacts as "Cyber fraud helpline". Show the Saral mode button if text is too small.
Volunteer rules
- Never ask for or look at their PIN, OTP or passwords.
- Do not install apps for them without asking.
- If money is already lost: call 1930 together and inform the bank.

How it works
- Each volunteer teaches five elders. One session is about 30 minutes on the elder's own phone, doing at least three Internet Seekho levels together.
- Start with "Pay or collect" and "OTP". Let the elder press the buttons; you only explain. Mistakes in practice are the lesson.
- Log each elder on your phone: first name, levels done, date. The log never leaves your phone.
- After five elders with three or more levels each, download your Digital Saathi certificate. It says the count is self-declared.
- Coordinators: print the kit below (session plan, sign-in sheet, poster) and hold a common session on campus or in a village.
Questions people ask
Does this cost anything or need registration?
No. Everything is free and works without an account. Colleges can run a drive whenever they like.
Can the hours count for NSS?
That is for your programme officer to decide. Show them the kit and your log; the certificate states the number of elders as self-declared.
What if the elder's phone has no internet?
Open Internet Seekho on your phone and let them practise on it. The skills are the same.
What if an elder has already lost money?
Help them call 1930 at once or report on cybercrime.gov.in, and inform their bank. Do not ask for their PIN or OTP yourself.
