How we work it out
- Each exam’s age limit is checked on its own cut-off date (for example 1 August for SSC and UPSC), and moved forward one year at a time to find every cycle you still fit.
- Category relaxation is added as each notification says (OBC 3 years, SC and ST 5, PwBD 10 more at central exams). Ex-servicemen relaxation is worked out from your years of service.
- Where the notification caps attempts (UPSC CSE, SBI PO, RBI Grade B), attempts left = the cap minus attempts used, but never more than the cycles your age allows.
- The qualification, subject and gender rules come from the exam eligibility finder, which uses the same notifications.

Questions people ask
What is the last year I can apply?
It is the last notification year in which your age on that exam’s cut-off date is within the limit, after your relaxations. The page shows it for every exam.
How is ex-servicemen relaxation counted?
For SSC and railway exams, your military service is taken off your actual age, then 3 years more are allowed (6 for OBC, 8 for SC and ST). Bank clerk exams allow service plus 3 years, up to 50. UPSC, IBPS PO and SBI PO give 5 years after 5 years of service. Always read the exact clause in the notification.
Do age relaxations for state police apply to me?
Usually only if you are a domicile of that state. Candidates from other states apply as general category.
