APAAR and ABC: which student-record route should you use?

Understand academic identity and credit records before creating another account. Start with your school or college’s current instructions and the official APAAR resources.

Take it step by step

  1. Ask your institution which record is required: a school academic identity, an existing APAAR ID or higher-education credit records.
  2. Read the official FAQ and the institution’s procedure. School/guardian steps and higher-education credit processes are not interchangeable.
  3. Review any consent request, including the school’s parental-consent form where applicable. Ask the institution about errors or questions before agreeing.
  4. Check the student’s recorded name and other identity details against the institution’s records. Use the official correction route for a mismatch.
  5. Retain the institution’s confirmation and inspect the academic records actually available. Ask the issuer about missing or incorrect credits.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

A situation to try.

A college asks for an academic ID, but the student finds a school consent form online. The student should ask the college for its own academic-credit procedure instead of submitting an unrelated form.

Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.

Before you call it done.

  • Identify the institution and the requested record.
  • Read consent before proceeding.
  • Check the issuer of each academic record.

Know the limits.

An academic ID is not a financial bank account, a marksheet or proof that all credits have been uploaded. IndiaDigital cannot issue an ID or change institutional records.
