PRACTICAL GUIDE

Make a short GIF, boomerang or product clip on your device

Use still-image GIFs for a short sequence, video GIFs for a small excerpt, and MP4 for longer material. GIF often becomes larger than a modern video because it uses limited-colour frames and lacks modern video compression.

Take it step by step

  1. For still images, choose Animated GIF from images. Use the earlier/later buttons to set frame order and select seconds per image.
  2. For a movie excerpt, use GIF maker with a short start/duration range and a modest width. Download and review motion and colours.
  3. For a boomerang, choose at most 10 seconds. It creates a silent forward-and-back clip. Reversal accepts at most 15 seconds because decoded frames must be buffered.
  4. Use GIF to video when the recipient supports MP4. Use Merge video clips for a sequence and choose silent output if some inputs lack audio.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

A situation to try.

The GIF example alternates red and green synthetic images. At 0.4 seconds per image, the generated loop lasts roughly 0.8 seconds. Real exports are created by the bundled engine.

Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.

Before you call it done.

  • GIF transparency and playback looping do not transfer directly to MP4.
  • Still-image GIF input is limited to 20 frames.
  • Crop coordinates are pixels from the top-left and must fit the picture.
  • Resize a PNG logo before using Watermark video; it retains its supplied size.

Know the limits.

Reverse and boomerang processing can use substantial memory even for small compressed files. This release intentionally bounds clip length and does not promise unlimited browser processing.

This tool’s current boundary: Choose up to 20 raster images. GIF has limited colours and no soundtrack; output size can be large.

Evidence and scope

Technical source guidance and task-specific output checks. These do not establish that every file, browser or device passes.

Use the checks above on your own exported result. A source explains the format or mechanism; it is not proof that this export preserved every feature.
