- For online or distance study, use the UGC-DEB listing and match year/session, institution, mode and programme—not just the institution name.
- For other study routes, consult UGC’s institution information and the relevant professional regulator where the qualification requires one.
- Compare the official entry with the university’s prospectus and the offer from any intermediary. Ask the awarding institution to resolve conflicting claims in writing.
- Keep the listing and prospectus details with the date checked before making your admission decision. Recheck for your actual intake.
A situation to try.
An institution appears in a list, but the advertisement is for a different online programme and session. Those details need a separate match before treating the advertisement as recognised.
